Get a copy of form D1 Application for a driving licence and Form D750 Application for a photo card licence from a post office, and complete all relevant sections. Enclose your fee and send it off to DVLA, Swansea. The full address is shown on the application forms.

Allow at least 3 weeks for your licence to arrive, longer if your medical history will need to be checked by the DVLA. You can apply for your licence up to 2 months before its start date. You cannot drive until you receive your licence, and you must sign it before driving.
